This rug is beautiful. However, it is tufted and the fibers may come loose from the latex backing if you attempt to extract a stain using cold water. On the same note the blue dye used is not at all colorfast and will bleed horribly if any water is spilled on the carpet. I had a wine spill, which I was able to fully remove using water. My unfortunate side effect was all of the blue bled out into the white on a large section of the rug just from the use of cold water. There were definite corners cut in terms of dyeing the blue fiber used in the baltic blue splash rug. I would not recommend this rug until the colorfastness issue is addressed. read more
