This warranty and your 30-day return right
This warranty is separate from our 30-day satisfaction guarantee, which lets you return your piece within 30 days of delivery. Both may apply to your purchase. See article.com/returns.
If Your Piece Arrives Damaged
Sometimes the universe conspires against us. In the unlikely event your piece arrives to you in less than perfect condition, please get in touch within 30 days of delivery. To help us assess the issue, please send photographs of the product taken from various angles and distances. If possible, include photos of the box the product arrived in, as it may have been damaged during transport. If the issue can't be documented with photos, short videos are also welcome.
Damage that happens in transit is handled as a delivery claim, not under the warranty below.
What's covered, and for how long
Year one: your product’s warranty coverage starts on your delivery date and ends one year later. Coverage in this period is for confirmed defects in materials and workmanship.
Years two through five: your product’s extended, limited warranty coverage begins on the first anniversary of your delivery date and ends five years after your delivery date. Coverage in this period is for confirmed structural defects, meaning a genuine defect that compromises your piece's structure or safety. This includes a cracked support or centre beam, a snapped structural component or corner wedge, a collapsed frame, a collapsed or bulging arm, a bent or broken frame, or a split seat or a similar issue that could become unsafe.
This warranty applies to the original purchaser who buys the piece, and uses it for the intended purpose. Warranty claims will require proof of purchase (i.e.: your order confirmation email or a credit card statement).
Known product issues
Where we identify and publish a product issue, design flaw, recall, or quarantine affecting your piece, the Article team will first endeavour to repair the issue with our Furniture Solutions Network — locally-trusted furniture techs who will assess and repair structural issues. Should repair prove impossible, Article will provide one replacement of the affected product or component within five years of delivery.
What we'll do
If we confirm the issue is a covered defect, we'll organize replacement parts, a repair, or a complete replacement at no charge to you for parts, labor, or shipping. If we can't repair or replace your piece after a reasonable number of attempts, we'll refund the purchase price of the affected item to your original payment method, or as store credit if you prefer.
Please note that parts supplied under warranty are at Article’s option, with no guarantee of availability for purchase.
How to make a claim
1. Get in touch within your warranty period and, where possible, within 30 days of noticing the issue.
Pro tip: use our customer care LiveChat for the fastest resolution of warranty issues.
2. Send Article your order number, delivery date, and a description of the issue. Please include photos or a short video of the affected area.
3. We'll confirm we've received your claim within 2 days. To best understand the issue, we may ask for more images or videos, or dispatch a tech from our Furniture Solutions Network to assess whether the issue can be repaired or requires full replacement.
4. We'll let you know our decision and, where your claim is covered, the remedy and timing.
What's not covered
This warranty does not cover: (a) pet scratches or other pet damage; (b) spills, stains, or accidental damage; (c) damage from improper cleaning or harsh cleaning products; (d) sitting or placing weight on the arms; (e) dragging, pushing, or otherwise improperly moving the piece; (f) incorrect assembly or use; (g) modifications to the product; (h) normal deterioration, including fading, pilling, cushion compression or softening, velvet marking, and leather pooling; (i) damage occurring after delivery that isn't related to materials or workmanship.
Our warranties are non-transferable and can't be extended to re-sold items, except where applicable law provides otherwise. They’re valid when pieces are assembled, used, and cared for in line with the assembly and care instructions we provide with the piece or on its product page.
Implied warranties
Any implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to five years from the delivery date. Some states and provinces don't allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this may not apply to you.
Other damages
Article is not liable for incidental or consequential damages arising out of the use of, or inability to use, this product. Some states and provinces don't allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this may not apply to you.
Your legal rights
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary from state to state and province to province. This warranty is in addition to, and doesn't limit or exclude, the rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
Quebec
For consumers in Quebec, nothing in this warranty limits or excludes the legal warranties provided by the Consumer Protection Act, including the warranty that goods must be fit for the purposes for which goods of that kind are ordinarily used and must be durable in normal use for a reasonable length of time. The Implied warranties and Other damages sections above don't apply to consumers in Quebec to the extent they conflict with that Act. Ces conditions de garantie sont disponibles en français à [URL].
Version and record
The version of this warranty that applies to your purchase is the version in effect on the date you placed your order, as recorded in your order confirmation.
