Fog Gray

Fog Gray

Like your favorite sweater, made better. Hand-woven wool is tightly looped into a sophisticated, soft rug for your floors. This is a perfect option for wood or stone floors and organic-chic, all-natural spaces. Our wool rugs are sourced from real, happy sheep. These sheep live the good life: rolling hills, sweet grass, and long naps. As such, our rugs occasionally have a little bit of that nap-grass stuck in their fibres. If you find a piece of grass, make a wish!

It is so soft and is exactly the colour palette that I wanted. It is nice and thick and feels so good underfoot. It is shedding a bit but that was mentioned and so I expected it. read more

Beautiful color and weave and fits my large living room space well (purchased last Oct). Goes nicely with my Sven sectional in gray and Mara marble coffee table. The only reason I gave it a 4 rating is because the weaving does get ‘furry’ – this is expected for this type of woven rug/material and it can be trimmed of course, just takes some effort initially up front when it’s new, but normal. It's also pretty pricey for a rug, but I do feel it is worth the quality. read more

Worst. Rug. Ever. TL;DR - Like having a phantom sheep dog in the house that consistently sheds piles of hair everywhere. We do not have pets but need to protect our baby from these fibres that get everywhere. Have owned this rug for over 18 months. Becoming increasingly disappointed and frustrated with it. Would love to return it if we could, but too far out from purchase date for that option I’m sure. Would love to get a new rug but can’t justify the cost at this time. May elect to burn it some day when we find a suitable replacement, or give it to someone I don't like. We have a number of items ordered from Article in our home (sofa, rocking chair, dinning table chairs, bar stools, another style of rug) and have been pleased with each of these other items, and of course the service from Article along the way has been great. However, this rug has been a point of contention since the beginning. We had expected that the rug would shed a bit at the beginning due to the weave of the natural fibres and that the shedding would taper after a few weeks of wear-in. It has gotten progressively worse and I am disappointed that I have to put down a patchwork of blankets so our baby doesn’t choke on the piles of fibres he pulls up and tries to stick in his mouth. GOOD: - Soft underfoot - Neutral colour - Natural fibres - Actually like the design-style. However, the design-function/manufacture/performance is the flaw. BAD: - The entire surface of the rug is covered with loose fibres that look like an old hairbrush matted with dead hair - Cannot (DO NOT!) vacuum using the rotating brush option on your vacuum. It will cause the carpet to have an abrasion. Learned this the hard way on first cleaning. We now have a small strip where the fibres are loose and appear to need a haircut. Super fuzzy now in that area. - Dust bunnies cover the floor daily. Not even cute little bunnies but angry killer bunnies from hell. They cover the area of the floor that is not covered by the rug, into the kitchen and dining room, down the hall, and into the washroom. Entire main floor (hardwood) has fibrous dust bunnies in ever nook and cranny on a daily basis. We do not have forced air heating that could push these little piles of hair around the house that easily. There is just so much of it that it gets everywhere. - We have had a baby since our purchase who was crawling around on the rug until we saw his hands caked in the fibres. Drooly hands pulling on carpet fibres results in what we have dubbed as mullet palms they are so hairy. He would then try and stick his hands in his mouth. We no longer have a rug on the floor, rather a rug on the floor covered in a patchwork of blankets. Not to protect the rug, but to protect our baby from the rug fibres. Do not recommend. read more
